Take part in #GivingTuesday and work with the Spanish Red Cross by donating toys
To boost #GivingTuesday among its employees, PortAventura Foundation decided to join in with the collection of toys organised by the Spanish Red Cross for the “Sus derechos en juego” (Your rights at play) campaign.
From 29th November to 13th December, people could collaborate by bringing new toys (not war-related or sexist) to containers set up at the entrance to Building 110 and at the Employee Service Desk in Building 111.
20% of boys and girls helped by the Spanish Red Cross don’t have games or toys. This assistance allows the organisation to continue to support thousands of children in families suffering financial hardship who are not able to buy toys.
What is #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday, which this year was held on 29th November, is a global movement with the aim of dedicating a day all over the world to the celebration of giving, whether this be food, money, time (volunteered), toys, etc.
It dates back to 2012, when the #GivingTuesday movement was created in the USA as an alternative to other days celebrated just before, known as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which promote purchases leading up to Christmas.
