Down Catalunya gathers almost 7.000 people in the 11th solidary “Fent Amics” day at PortAventura Park
Last Saturday, October 5th, the eleventh edition of the solidarity day "Fent Amics" took place. Organized annually by Down Catalunya and the PortAventura Foundation with an eminently playful and convivial nature, where almost 7.000 people gathered this year.
In the year of the 15th anniversary of the entity, there was once again the sponsorship of the Invest for Children Foundation and the participation of many volunteers from the ten entities that make up Down Catalunya and the Federation of Volunteers Associations of La Caixa.
On the occasion of these 15 years, Down Catalunya wanted to surprise everyone with the presence on stage of many presenters who had accompanied in previous editions. Monica Palenzuela, Daniel Domenjó, Mireia Mallol, Fermí Fernández, Xavier Grasset and Mireia Ros, accompanied Laia Martí and Enric Luquero (both from Aura Fundació) in the presentation of the gala, which had almost a thousand attendees.
Ramón Marsal, President of the PortAventura Foundation and Gloria Canals, President of Down Catalunya, highlighted the participation of volunteers, families and entities on the eleventh anniversary of the "Fent Amics" event, which demonstrates their commitment to people with intellectual disabilities.
At the Great Imperial Chinese Theater, people could enjoy the dance performance of the Down Revolution group composed of young people from Down Tarragona, and a gymnastics show by the Assvolcall Down Club in collaboration with the Gimnàstic Fedac Lleida Club. PortAventura Park dance company offered its fabulous show "Halloween Kingdom".
Down Catalunya has had more synergies of collaboration than ever when it comes to the promotion and sale of event tickets. This year, the Querol shoe stores, the group of castellers Xicots de Vilafranca, the la Federació d’Ateneus de Catalunya, the Federation of Colles de Diables of Barcelona, FAPAC, FAPAES as well as different commercial axes such as San Antoni Comerç, Eix Comercial Poble Sec-Paral.lel, Eix Comercial Sant Martí and Eix Comercial Poble Nou.
The income obtained from the sale of the tickets was destinated to Down Catalunya and its ten entities (Andi-Down Sabadell, Aura Fundació, Down Lleida, Down Tarragona, FamíliaAMIC, Fundació Astrid 21 de Girona, Fundació Catalana Síndrome Down, Barcelona Down, Fundación Cromo Suma and Fundación Reto)
