This new edition has become a great meeting full of sports activities, solidarity and family fun.

The full collection of the meeting will go to support projects of Pallapupas, an organization focused on improving the quality of life in hospitals.

More than 2,000 participants of all ages have joined today the Solidarity Day of the PortAventura Foundation. The assistants have been able to live a day full of fun in family, sport and solidarity in a unique and very special environment, since the course of the VI edition of the Solidarity Race has been developed within the park.

The runners have made a 6km circuit that has taken them through some of the most iconic areas of PortAventura Park such as China or Far West. In this edition, in addition to the race, attendees have been able to participate in new activities to enjoy a wonderful family day.

A day of solidarity for the whole family

Before starting the race, children and adults have had the opportunity to enjoy a zumba masterclass, organized by the Amadeu Pelegrí Association, with 30 monitors coordinating the session at the same time,  one of the largest held in the province of Tarragona.  The youngest have also been able to participate in the programmed children's races and have a great time with the visit of the characters from the Theme Park:  Epi, Blas, Coco, Woody or the Halloween Family.

The day was closed with an “Aprčs Run” enlivened by DJ Abadia, from the APPC - 'La Muntanyeta' association, focused on improving the quality of life of people with cerebral palsy. In addition, the same day of the race, tickets could be purchased solidarity to PortAventura Park for only € 21 that will contribute to increase the final amount raised in favor of the cause.

The benefits obtained in this day will go entirely to support the projects full of positivity of Pallapupas, an organization focused on improving the quality of life of children and adults in hospitals through smile.

Pallapupas works with hospitalized children and adults and with people with mental illness, admitted or not, with the aim of improving their physical and emotional state. Using the power of smile, the Pallapupas team visits thousands of people every year in a dozen health centers and hospitals such as the Joan XXIII University Hospital in Tarragona.

"Pallapupas improves the condition of more than 30,000 children hospitalized every year thanks to humor, to face the disease in a positive way. In Tarragona, we have been helping children and their families in the Joan XXIII Hospital for 6 years both in the pediatric ward and in the operating room. Our work is possible thanks to initiatives such as the Solidarity Race of the PortAventura Foundation, which directly help us to continue with our programs ", explained Angie Rosales, founder and director of Pallapupas.

"In the Fundació PortAventura we seek to promote projects that help improve the quality of life of the greatest possible number of people, especially children and young people with illnesses, with special abilities and at risk of social exclusion," said Ramón Marsal, President of the PortAventura Foundation.

"The collaborations, like the one we have underway with Pallapupas, allow us to amplify our commitment through positivism as a way to improve the social and emotional well-being of children and young people."
