06/10/2016
  • 1,200 guests attended this year’s Dinner, the highest number of attendees since the charity event was first created.
  • The total funds raised will be used to boost initiatives that improve quality of life for children and teenagers affected by cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and those at risk of food poverty.

Once again this year, the Charity Dinner organised by the PortAventura Foundation was a resounding success. The event, which took place on 6th October at PortAventura World’s Convention Centre, brought together 1,200 guests including the general public, PortAventura World employees, companies from all different sectors, public organisations and city councils, and representatives of charities and social projects.

The 6th edition of the fundraising dinner succeeded in raising €85,302, exceeding last year’s figure of €82,000. The total funds raised will be used to boost initiatives that improve quality of life for children and teenagers affected by cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and those experiencing a lack of adequate food and nutrition. For this purpose, three local organisations that stand out for their work in this area were selected: the Associació Provincial de Paràlisi Cerebral de Tarragona – La Muntanyeta, the Taller Baix Camp organisation and the “Alimentando sonrisas” project created by the Formació i Treball Foundation. At the end of the event, the funds were donated in an even split between the three associations which each received €28,434.

According to the President of the PortAventura Foundation, Ramon Marsal, “it is a great pleasure for us to organise initiatives like this which generate such a positive response. This year, we wanted to recognise in particular the efforts of three organisations in the region which carry out very important work to improve and facilitate the lives of people with some form of disability or who are at risk of social exclusion”.
